Tradition is one of those words that can have a wonderful conotation or a really negative one.
Having a big family dinner on Sundays, decorating the Christmas tree the week before American Thanksgiving, and watching Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation are some of our family traditions and they are lovely!
Traditions that make one feel trapped, belittled, and stuck….are not so lovely.
The holidays can be a time where we have traditions on both sides of the coin. What’s to stop you from creating a new and better tradition? If you don’t like the way things have “always” been done, then change it.
